Art & Education

As a classically trained violinist and singer, Farah believes in the transformative power of the arts and education programs, particularly those that support underserved communities and stimulate conversations about important social issues. Farah used the launch of her first website as an opportunity to raise funds for The New Group. In 2014, Farah was invited to conduct the NASDAQ closing bell ceremony, and donated her fees to ChaShaMa. She developed and launched the Farah Zulaikha Microenterprise Assistance program model to bring business education and a no-interest seed funding loan to trafficking and domestic abuse survivors through partnerships between social service, education and micro-loan organizations. Farah is a celebrity ambassador for Entertainers 4 Education Alliance. She has also raised funds for multiple universities, including Mercy College and Tulane University.

In 2019, she presented the #EducateOurMen scholarship at the BET Awards and partnered with the Creative Artists Agency taskforce to support Communities in Schools Los Angeles, which provides communities in Los Angeles comprehensive, evidence-based services to decrease dropout rates and increase graduation rates.  In February of 2020, she represented the NCWUS at the 5th International Day of Women & Girls in Science assembly.  Later this year, she plans to host a film screening benefit for Films ByKids, a collaboration between THIRTEEN and the non-profit organization, BYkids, which empowers teenagers to create short personal documentaries that educate and encourage understanding about global issues.
